QUEER BLACK CREATIVES was created January 31, 2016. S/o to blkcreatives for the inspiration! Although I feel blkcreatives is amazing for the community and services they provide, I wanted to create a community specifically for us. I did some extensive research and I noticed there was so many folks online searching for support, creatives & events in the community. So I said to myself, self: if you can't find the hub, create it. So...here we are. I also provide website design, photography and videography services. The photography and videography services provided is documentary style in order to preserve our community & its culture. You can find more info here

THE LOW DOWN:
What does it mean to be a Queer Black Creative? Anyone under the LGBTQIA umbrella knows first hand how much of a beautiful struggle living our lives can be. We have a community full of joy but the challenges & pain of us just trying to stay true to who we are hits the core. From the shaming, violence, discrimination, etc - the struggle be real. But the beautiful scope of it all is that we have each other in the mist of it all. At a time where I felt I was the alone when trying to come to terms with my sexuality, my LGBTQIA fam and allies held it down. Never turning their back, but simply accepting my truth for what it was. I'm thankful and I'll never forget that Love. So know that when you're in the presence of QBC, this spot is for us. If you need anything - support, someone to talk to, etc [you name it] ...just lemme know. You're heard, I feel you & you're safe here no matter what.
